Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., and her Republican challenger, state House Speaker Thom Tillis, are locked in a tight battle in North Carolina’s Senate race.
A new analysis by American Insights shows Hagan and Tillis tied with 42 percent of the vote. In recent months, American Insights had shown Hagan with a slight lead, but the race now falls in line with much of the year’s polling.
North Carolina is seen as a crucial state for Republicans as the party looks to gain six seats to claim control the Senate.
